Have you ever thought about how it feels when you wake up after a great night’s sleep and have this feeling deep in your gut that it’s going to be a good day? Maybe you have something to look forward to…a well-deserved vacation, a whole day with someone special, or it’s your birthday!
It would be nice if we could approach every day with that kind of anticipation. But life doesn’t always work that way. We often face circumstances that we aren’t too sure about – a new job, sending our first born off to college, the loss of a loved one. We all go through times that are hard. It can be easy to give in to the feelings that come along with those hard times … worry, anxiety, and even fear.
We have hope knowing that all the experiences in our lives – even the sad, stressful, and scary ones – can grow us, stretch us, and help us appreciate all the good. We can be sure that “in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
Whether we are sending our first-born off to college or our baby off to kindergarten, we can re-focus on the Hope He promises and begin to watch with anticipation for how He is going to work.
