Thank you for raising me in a Christian home. The foundation of my faith was firmly rooted by you and Mom, and my beliefs grow more precious with every passing day. Although, as a child, I was unaware of the gift you were giving me, I now understand the value of all the sacrifices you made for me.
Thank you for my wonderful childhood. Growing up, I always had more than enough and realize now as an adult, how hard you worked to provide. Thank you for the gymnastic lessons, super big doll house, and the pool. Thanks for letting me have a Quarter Horse on our Appaloosa Farm and for spending your weekends driving to horse shows and being my biggest champion!
Thank you for welcoming me home after my divorce. For not chastising me about marrying someone unequally yoked, but welcoming us home and again providing for our needs. Thank you for being an awesome Christian role model for your grandson.
Thank you for being strong when Mom died. And for always letting me cry and telling me how much you miss her too. We know she is with Jesus and healed in her glorified body…yet we miss her being with us.
Thank you Daddy, for loving me…
Now, I realize each one of us has a unique childhood experience and you may not have been blessed with a Christian foundation or even an earthly father who you think deserves a thank you. However, we are assured that we all have a Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally. He created our innermost being and knit us together in our mother’s womb. We are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by a Father who loves us perfectly.
And this makes every Father’s Day a day to celebrate!
Happy Father’s Day!
